Weekends Open for social programming
The Ehrnfelt Senior Center is unlike most
senior centers. Sure, you will find your usual friendly game of gin,
pinochle and Bingo, but the Strongsville Senior Center also has a fully
loaded wood shop, art and craft classes, wellness visits and a wii
Bowling League.
The Senior Center is adjacent to the Ehrnfelt
Recreation Center, and is located at 18100 Royalton Road (RT 82). Silver
Mustang Membership is $20 for Strongsville residents and includes:

- Admission into Members-only events
- Members-only programs
- Free birthday lunch the month of your birthday
- 3 free daily passes to Ehrnfelt Rec Center and daily discount coupons for family and friends

New
member orientation is held on the 4th Monday of every month at 7 p.m.,
and on the 4th Friday of every month at 10 a.m. To reserve your spot,

Seniors can take advantage of many education
programs such as Organizing Financial Documents, and free consultations
such as Medicare Counseling, that are offered monthly at the center.
Popular Senior Fitness Program favorites are Tai Chi classes and Zumba
Gold fitness classes. Other Special programs offered throughout the year
include:
- Ballroom Dances
- White Elephant Sales
- Senior Center Olympics
- Dinner and a Movie night
- Backyard Barbecue
- Senior Zoo Day
- Day/overnight trips to Fremont, Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and Seneca Allegany
Wood Shop Classes and ServicesAfter
completing an introductory wood shop class, members can have access to
the wood shop complete with drills, hammers, saws and other tools
necessary to complete any woodworking project, including their own home
projects. Use of the shop costs one dollar an hour. Wood carving is
offered to learn about the basics of wood carving, the tools used, and
experienced carvers can share their knowledge and sharpen their skills. Workshop supervisors and volunteers also offer to repair wood items
for a minimal fee. Items may be brought to the center any Wednesday or
Thursday between 9:30-11:30 a.m. and a project volunteer will discuss
cost and repair project with you.
Senior WheelsThe
Senior Wheels transportation program provides rides for seniors to
doctor appointments, shopping centers, hairdressers, etc. at a minimal
cost.
The Silver SpoonMembers
and Non-members can enjoy a selection of breakfast items and lunch
items at The Silver Spoon. Breakfast is served Mondays-Thursdays, 6:30
a.m. - 10 a.m. and on Fridays, 8 - 10 a.m.
Reservations for lunch
must be made the day before, and no later than 8 a.m. that day. Lunch
begins at 11:45 a.m. $4 members/$4.50 Non-members/residents.
